UNORIGINALITY
All that is original is original. All that is unoriginal is original too, by virtue of it being done at a new time and place.
APPROPRIATION
Appropriation is the purest form of art. Never create something from scratch. There is no such thing as scratch. How could there be? That would be nothing. And nothing is not a thing. Appropriation art and its corollaries — Readymades, Pop art, Meme Culture — are like the steady oarsman powering contemporary art practices. The new can’t arrive unless it sits on a firm bedrock of old; and those polishing and reifying old practices and aesthetics are doing every bit as much clever work as anyone claiming newness.
INVERSION
On the other hand, to take without giving is a sin; and disallowed by the tenets of Buddhism. Can you invert the old? Can you chop it up? Can you digitize it and then pixelate it and then print it out and then digitize it and then pixelate it and then print it out and then digitize it and then pixelate it and then print it out and then digitize it and then pixelate it and then print it out? How much will that Artwork sell for? What if you then digitize it — How much will that NFT sell for?
DIGITAL DEITIES (MANY GORGEOUS GODS)
Idols are enjoyable because they cannot be consumed; idols are shape-shifting to the point of anti-consumption; they are generative objects; objects which allow people full control and mutability over their forms; idols are the ultimate Submissives.
We enjoy idol-worship. That’s got nothing to do with idols, per se. They are just there. Confronted by an idol, we are empowered to tell a story. Upon telling that story, we take control over our own destinies — recognizing the limitations of reality as our own conceptions of reality, we find power in the submission to a grander narrative; whereupon submission, we gain control.
OAT MILK
The best brand of milk, and the best milk-substitute, is by far Oatly Oat Milk. The richness of texture and flavor does not rival traditional milk — it surpasses it. You need not a mature palette to agree the flavor profile of Oat Milk outshines all competitors such as almond milk, soy milk, rice milk, and other plant-based milks.
As compared to cow’s milk; we need not even acknowledge a comparison. In the future everyone is Vegan. That goes without saying. Cows are Vegan. Oat Milk knows no contemporaries; I Only Drink Oat Milk.
